I want to disrupt the Western theatrical tradition that separates the performers and audience. As a director primarily focused on new play development, I cultivate a community that builds trust around "problematic" plays—those that upset societal norms. My rehearsal rooms become spaces of growth where anyone can shine. I seek to direct projects centered around Black Joy, new works, and everything outside of the norm! As a teaching artist, Khadija looks to build strong voices through movement, theatre, music and playwriting education.
